Although some details have been revealed, a decent pic had not. Until now. Feast your eyes, this is it, folks.

You can certainly see why the reporter with the hands on said it’s the tiniest Qwerty they’d seen:

“It’s infinitesimal: it’s actually impossible to type on this thing with two thumbs”.

Rumoured to be launching soon in the States, perfect for teens and those with whittled thumbs.

BlackBerry Home Server rumours surface

Posted by admin 27 August, 2007 (0) Comment

BlackBerry users could soon be able to transfer files wirelessly between their handheld device and their PC wherever they are according to an analyst in the US.

Dubbed the BlackBerry Home Server, the system would operate in a similar fashion to RIM’s BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Scotia Capital’s Gus Papageorgiou said in a report Thursday.

“Anybody who has an MP3 player and a mobile phone is a target for this service,” Papageorgiou said in an interview.

The news, if true would allow Research in Motion to appeal to consumers looking for more than just email on the go.

Papageorgiou has said that the software would allow the user to organize their digital media, in a manner similar to Apple’s iTunes program.

“People talk about convergence, and right now, for the most part it’s all talk,” he said. “But RIM is the only company that has a convergence platform, because they have the [network operating centre]. The NOC can tie in your PC to your mobile phone, so that one is always in touch with the other.”

LG KU990 Viewty

Posted by admin 25 August, 2007 (0) Comment

The full technical specifications of the KU990 Viewty will be announced at the end of the month, but so far we know that the 5.1 megapixel camera comes with a flash, electronic image stabilisation, photo editing and single-click uploading to YouTube.lg

Video capture on the LG Viewty is up to 120 fps (frames per second) - this is twice the frame rate of an HDTV and frankly why anyone needs this kind of frame rate is a mystery. We’re not sure what the video capture resolution is on the KU990, but it will need to be at least 640×480 pixels to compete with the Nokia N95.

gPhone launching - in 2 week’s time?

Posted by admin 25 August, 2007 (0) Comment

We’re all looking forward to seeing just what Google is planning to offer with their gPhone, but “looking forward” is the key phrase here, with nothing expected until early-2008.

Reports from India then suggesting that an exclusive launch is imminent are somewhat surprising - and also - somewhat questionable.

They reports state that Google is currently in talks with India’s first and third largest telecommunications companies, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Essar about the Google phone.

The information suggests a launch in just 2 week’s time to see a simultaneous debut of the gPhone in both the US and Europe, with other announcements in India and other parts of the world.

The only “hurdle” for this imminent product announcement is apparently approval from regulatory agencies but with Google’s rumoured plans to invest $7 to 8 billion into the project these “hurdles” will be overcome.

Recent reports from the US were more believable - that Google had been taking a prototype round to mobile phone operators and were in talks with handset manufacturers too.

The Google phone rumour has been rumbling on for nearly a year now since the company first mentioned a possible, ad-supported, free phone but they have never confirmed the existence of hardware.
