Gilded Samsung D780 is official for Russian Olympic team

Released in May of this year, the Samsung D780 must have turned enough heads that is was given the high honor of being the official handset of the Russian Olympic team. Perhaps the color thrilled? Maybe the fast and flowing lines or that certain je ne sais quoi brought about by gem encrusted or golden technology? Either way, the team will be enjoying tri-band GSM with EDGE, support for two SIM cards, 2.1-inch VGA screen, FM radio, Bluetooth, microSD memory expansion, and a whole lot of gold. No price was given, but it is expected to be shipping by August this year.

Samsung Soul in fresh and frosty pink

It’s rehash day chez Samsung, the very popular Soul is just out of the paint shop and is definitely pretty in pink. The handset still boats everything it did before, Magic Touch navigation, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, 5 megapixel camera, and the Bang & Olufsen ICEpower amplifier. Vodafone Offer Sim-Only Deals to Rival O2

Vodafone are launching their new Sim only deals on Jan 16^th, with some brilliant new tariffs,basicaly they are trying rival O2 simplicity tariffs. These contracts are 1 month rolling contracts, so you can opt out of the contract the following month if you don’t like the package. Of courseyou yhave to give them 30 day notice so in theory you have to pay for two months.

Samung Announces a 8 Megapixel Camera for Phones

Samsung has announced that it has created an 8-megapixel CMOS module for use in mobile phones.

The module has the same footprint as Samsung’s 3.2-megapixel module at 10.5 x 11.5 x 9.4mm. It measures 3264 x 2444 pixels, has autofocus capabilities and will be able to produce 300dpi picture output for prints as large as 10 x 8-inches.
This will be available in 2008  mostly likely Q3/Q4.

New Samsung phone with mouse pointer ?

A video has popped up on YouTube of a new looking Samsung Pocket PC featuring a roller wheel to control a mouse pointer on the screen. The video was taken by DinarSoft at Gitex recently. Theirs no more information on this at the moment .Hopefully once its announced we will post it.
