Samsung launches I7500, The Company’s First Android-Powered Mobile Phone.
Seoul (Korea Newswire) April 27, 2009 05:08 PM — Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., a leading mobile phone provider, today unveiled the I7500, its first Android-powered mobile phone. With a launch of I7500, Samsung became the first company among the global top three mobile phone manufacturers to unveil an Android-powered phone.

The Samsung I7500 is a cutting-edge smartphone, featuring a 3.2″ AMOLED full touch screen and 7.2Mbps HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, giving users access to Google™ Mobile services and full web browsing at blazing speeds.

The Samsung I7500 offers users access to the full suite of Google services, including Google Search™, Google Maps™, Gmail™, YouTube™, Google Calendar™, and Google Talk™. The integrated GPS receiver enables the comprehensive use of Google Maps features, such as My Location, Google Latitude, Street View, local search and detailed route description. Hundreds of other applications are available in Android Market. For example, the application Wikitude, a mobile travel guide, allows consumers to access details of unknown sights via location-based Wikipedia articles.

Based on Samsung’s proven product leadership, Samsung I7500 comes with latest multimedia features. The large and vivid 3.2″AMOLED display ensures the brilliant representation of multimedia content and enjoyable full touch mobile experience. Apparently quite a few folks demanded to see more of the Soul dinosaur, so Sammy hoisted him up onto a truck and proceeded to drive around a few English towns. Gilded Samsung D780 is official for Russian Olympic team

Released in May of this year, the Samsung D780 must have turned enough heads that is was given the high honor of being the official handset of the Russian Olympic team. Perhaps the color thrilled? Maybe the fast and flowing lines or that certain je ne sais quoi brought about by gem encrusted or golden technology? Either way, the team will be enjoying tri-band GSM with EDGE, support for two SIM cards, 2.1-inch VGA screen, FM radio, Bluetooth, microSD memory expansion, and a whole lot of gold. No price was given, but it is expected to be shipping by August this year.

Vodafone Offer Sim-Only Deals to Rival O2

Vodafone are launching their new Sim only deals on Jan 16^th, with some brilliant new tariffs,basicaly they are trying rival O2 simplicity tariffs. These contracts are 1 month rolling contracts, so you can opt out of the contract the following month if you don’t like the package. Of courseyou yhave to give them 30 day notice so in theory you have to pay for two months.

Samung Announces a 8 Megapixel Camera for Phones

Samsung has announced that it has created an 8-megapixel CMOS module for use in mobile phones.

The module has the same footprint as Samsung’s 3.2-megapixel module at 10.5 x 11.5 x 9.4mm. It measures 3264 x 2444 pixels, has autofocus capabilities and will be able to produce 300dpi picture output for prints as large as 10 x 8-inches.
This will be available in 2008 mostly likely Q3/Q4.

New Samsung phone with mouse pointer ?

A video has popped up on YouTube of a new looking Samsung Pocket PC featuring a roller wheel to control a mouse pointer on the screen. The video was taken by DinarSoft at Gitex recently. Theirs no more information on this at the moment .Hopefully once its announced we will post it.
